Neurologist
evaluations

Once it is determined that a client may have suffered a head injury or is experiencing neurological symptoms after an accident, it can be difficult to find a Neurologist that will see them in a timely manner.

SynapseTBI can provide access to Neurologists via Telemed OR In-person to begin the Neurological work-up and evaluation for their case:

Free TBI screening
assessments

We know how difficult it can be for paralegals and case managers to identify patients with Neurological symptoms as a result of a Brain Trauma.

SynapseTBI has developed a FREE preliminary screening tool to help paralegals and case managers identify clients that could have potential TBIs – PRIOR to any diagnostic testing, potentially saving clients thousands on unnecessary testing. Click here to take the test.

Cognitive ERP/EEG
testing

Cognitive ERP/EEG is arguably the most beneficial diagnostic test for identifying and confirming a TBI.

This functional test analyzes 20 different areas of the brain while the patient is identifying visual and auditory stimuli, and completing cognitive tasks. The test measures cognitive impairment, cognitive flexibility, alternating attention, sequencing, visual search, and motor speed. To view the Patient Preparation Video please CLICK HERE.

Balance and fall risk
assessments

Physical and cognitive risk factors overlap strongly with traumatic brain injury sequels often resulting in survivors of traumatic brain injury being at greater risk of balance problems or falling than the general population. The risk is not clearly age related and people with traumatic brain injury are at risk of falls at any age.

Approximately 30-65% of survivors of traumatic brain injury report disequilibrium or dizziness in sitting or standing, which affect activities of daily living and mobility.

Vestibular &
oculomotor testing

Assessment of the vestibular ocular system provides the most accurate predictions of long-term outcomes after a concussion or mTBI. Vestibular ocular motor screening looks at the systems in charge of integrating vision, balance and eye movement. Eye tracking technology accurately measures deficits in certain eye movements that result from a concussion. The data provided by eye tracking technology offers an objective, reliable and quantifiable way of differentiating between individuals with different severities of concussion, as well as providing guidance on the path to recovery.

In-Home
Seizure Testing

Seizures can arise after a patient has sustained a traumatic brain injury. Comorbidities of non-convulsive simple partial seizures will also go undiagnosed after a TBI.

Synapse offers the same diagnostic testing for seizures that is seen in Epilepsy Monitoring Units around the country. Unlike EMUs Synapse TBI can perform these tests in-home, quicker, and at a fraction of the cost typically seen in a Hospital.
